However, if you get a chance to drive down the beach shore, the enthusiasm will multiply as you will get more chance to behold the beauty of the beach in your eyes for a longer time. Are you aware of the fact that Muzhappilangad Drive in Beach, Kannur- Kerala is the only drive-in beach of Asia. It offers a smooth drive of 4 km between Thalassery and Kunnur, which runs parallel to National Highway NH-17. Tourists visit this amazing beach spot mostly in the month of April when locals organise a festival. This event attracts travellers and young adventure enthusiasts to perform car stunts and bike stunts involving drifting and wheeling on the beach.

As far as safety standard is concerned, driving is safe at Muzhappilangad Beach as it is surrounded by black rocks. These rocks safeguard it from stronger currents of the sea. The serene beach is one of the popular beaches in Kerala known for its tranquility and picturesque sea view, which makes it a perfect spot for tourists to swim, to simply walk around and take sun bathe as well. The best time to drive on the sore here is from September to March.

The beautiful stretch winds through coconut groves leading to the beach. To get on to this road while driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. The beach is around 5 km long and curves in a wide area thereby giving a good view of Kannur on the north. The local laws are also easy as they allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4 km directly on the sands of the beach.
